I got home from work today to find my wife sitting on the couch surrounded by her coupon paraphernalia. Yep she had been "cutting" again as I like to call it and this time it was pretty serious. "Honey you wouldn't believe the deals they're offering this week,"she says to me without looking up from the task at hand. "These just aren't going to last long," she mutters to herself. The next thing I know she's out the door and on her way to the local grocery store to reap her reward.
And it truly is a reward for her, she loves telling me how much money she's saved. At least once a day I'll pick up an item (let's say a box of cereal) and then right on cue Shelley asks, "guess how much I spent on that box of cereal?" This is followed by me guessing prices and her gleefully responding "no...less" until at last I approach the correct price and then like a proud peacock she'll announce the purchase price outloud at least several times.
All kidding aside, I have to be honest...in light of the recent economic hardships facing our country, it's moments like these that make me so happy for marrying such a frugal companion. I love you Shelley and your coupon "nerdiness!" :-)

Ok Shelley. Save the guess work and the mapping out for us all and post the best deals! I did it for a little while, but quickly got tired of trying to figure it out. I do have to admit the high you get when they tell you how much you saved at checkout!
Oh I love my 'nerdy' sister!
My husband is in the same boat as you but I don't think he would describe my obsession as "nerdyness." I think mania is a more accurate description.

It is really too funny.
