I am a coupon junkie!!!!

So when I first graduated from hygiene school I honestly found myself a little bored. The time I used to spend studying was now wide open for options to fill. For 3 months it was hard to find things to do on my days off, there was only so much organizing that I could do around the house. Then one day I went to an enrichment where a guest speaker taught us about grocerysmarts.com, I am now officially addicted to grocery shopping/couponing. I went from spending about $400 per month in groceries to last month was $194.86 my coubords are stocked and I have had to clear out 3 shelves in my back closet for food.

I don't want to explain all of the details on how it works but I get 3 sunday news papers each week and use the following websites to get the weekly deals on groceries.
Coupon mom (check out her guide it gives you all the details on how to get started)

If you are looking for a way to increase your food storage and save TON's of money this is your answer. At first I used to just shop at Albertsons but because I am crazy I go to walmart, riteaid, walgreens, and smiths. I live pretty close to all of them and am able to go each week for the best deals. Each week at most places there are items that are completly free (because I have a coupon and its on sale) so I for sure get the free items and the items with 4-5 stars (once you check out the sites you'll know what I am talking about.) If you do want more info you can leave your Q's with you email and I'd love to answer.

So I usually have a bunch of extra coupons for things that Jeff and I don't eat so I have bought a bunch of stuff for my mom to take home during christmas. They only have 1 local grocery store in p-town and it can be very expensive. So mom here is the loot so far:
Item Quantity Cost Total
bisquick 4 $0.90 $3.60
cereal 4 $1.17 $4.68
cereal 2 4 $1.00 $4.00
Hamburger helper 3 $0.67 $2.01
flour 1 $2.00 $2.00
kisses,reeses,york 4 $0.88 $3.52
pasta 12 $0.50 $6.00
mac n cheese 8 $0.25 $2.00
4 spagetti sauce 4 $0.69 $2.76
vo5 2 $0.59 $1.18
Total 35.65

Items that I still need to go pick up
Item Quantity Cost Total
Kellogs cereal 24 $1.00 $24.00
Hamburger helper 3 $0.67 $2.01
chex cereal 10 1.16 $11.60
Mac n cheese 8 $0.25 $2.00

Grand total $39.61
Just to give you an idea, at walmart all of this woul have cost over $200. WOW!!

p.s. I have gotten a job that fills the days that I currently have off, it seems like a great office and I get to work with another Hygienist which, I am really looking forward to, wish me luck!

That is so awesome. My only problem is driving to Logan. But hey, now that gas prices are lower again it might be a good idea to start clipping again.

When i come home for christmas i think you should give me a little crash coarse on this coupon adventure. It'd surely help my college wallet regarding food.

Way to go Shelley! We tried to call for your birthday the other night and Lainey was suppose to sing on your answering machine but I don't think she actually did! So happy belated!

I need you to teach me. I don't know what stars you are referring to and I've been searching for five minutes. :)
