Out with the old and in with the new

Well folks February may be the month of new stuffage. I recently purchased some new glasses and contacts and there is a new grocery store in town called Buy-low that I am really liking.

OLD GLASSES
(notice the nice glare when I take pics)

NEW GLASSES #1

NEW GLASSES #2
(I decided to get the Transition lenses in this pair so we'll see how that goes)

Buy-Low has been awesome for fruit and veggie deals!!!!! I bought all of the goods below for $9.72. Because I am a nerd, I watch Zonya's health Bites on PBS sometimes and she recommended to prepare the veggies and fruits so that they are easily accessible and easy to use. I usually snack while I am cooking so I have found that if I get the veggie tray out while I am making food I snack on the veggies and fills this me up on the good stuff first.

I also crave sweets after meals like crazy and she says that if you double your fruit intake you wont crave the bad sweets so I am going to give it a try. She also says that if you want to loose weight to tripple the amount of veggies you eat.

I have still been going strong at couponing. My grocery amount for last month was
$300 and that doesn't include all of my rebates, the stuff I purchased for my mom, and diaper deal for my sweet neighbor Laura. If I subtract all of that it came to about $225. My food storage is growing and sweet Jeff even had to put up some new shelves for me.

p.s. Albertsons is doubling coupons up to $1 this week making a lot of things free!

I need more fruits and veggies!
Perhaps hiding chocolate all over my house is not the best first step to weight loss... hmm...

AND Cute glasses!

Shelley, your new table and stools are wonderful! I love real wood furniture, too. Also, nice glasses. What's the difference with the transition glass?

Your fruits and vegetable purchase photos are beautiful! I've found that when I eat plenty of fresh produce, I am more satisfied and spend less money overall on foods. Whole foods, real, or natural foods cost less than processed and are much better for our bodies. It's sad that more people don't appreciate the beauty of simple basic food. . . Good job on your nutrition and economizing research and studies, Shelley!

Have a loving week, love birds!

Con amor,
Mamacita
